In loving memory of the late Michael Joyce who sadly passed away on 10th May 2015

Born in Peterborough and living in Whittlesey, Michael attended local schools including March Grammar School.

Michael served his apprenticeship at nearby Perkins Engines, later joining the Merchant Navy as an engineer.

Michael ran his own haulage business (as an owner driver) in the 1960s until joining Cummins Engine Company as a service engineer. He had a varied career at Cummins, the early years covering the country as a service engineer, later to become a sales manager. Michael’s excellent knowledge also involved him in many engineering projects, including the development/test work of the E290 and L10 engines.

Michael later returned to Rolls Royce/Perkins Engines until his retirement.

In his retirement years, Michael was always keen to stay in touch with the industry and his many colleagues – attending shows and commercial rallies such as the London to Brighton run. He was also a regular at his local IRTE centre at Huntingdon.

Michael was a dearly loved husband of the late Jean, much loved dad of Ian, father-in-law of Carole and a devoted grandad of Stephen & Helen.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and his many friends in the Road Transport industry.

Miss you loads Mike. So enjoyed our get-togethers at concerts and home. We shared a common bond in great organ music and had such a laugh putting the world to rights.
You will be much missed - your dear friends, the Martin's.
