About Us

Mitcham Road Cemetery in Croydon is a late-Victorian cemetery which first opened in 1897.

The cemetery, which is the home to The Croydon Crematorium has two chapels, which are located next to the large car park and signposted throughout the grounds. The traditional, West Chapel seats up to 80 people on wooden pews, it has a catafalque that descends upon committal. The more contemporary, East Chapel seats approximately 130 people in padded seats. The seats can be arranged according to your family’s needs. Cremation services occur on Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm at 45 minute intervals and on Saturday from 9.30am to 11.45am.

The staff at Mitcham Road Cemetery can help you arrange a special memorial of your loved one to be placed in the Hall or, Gardens of Remembrance - which is dotted with trees and shrubs including Deodar Cedar, Acacia and Corsican Pine, as well as Laurel, Holly and Yew. The memorials can come in the form of plaques, inscripted paving in the garden, floral tributes and leather panels.

At Mitcham Road Cemetery, there are 346 war graves from the First and Second World War. Visitor facilities are open from 9am - 7.30pm (April - September), and 9am-5pm (October - March).
