In 2003, the Cotmanhay branch joined A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service. Before then, it was the headquarters of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service, which opened in 1979.
Bennerley House, the beautiful building where the funeral home is located, originally belonged to a local carpenters and includes a reception area, family rooms, visitation rooms, cold room facilities and garaging for part of our fleet of Rolls Royce hearses and limousines.
Mick Schofield is the funeral director responsible for this office and is assisted by funeral arranger Nikki Anderson.
The opening times are from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, but you can call at any time on the telephone number to arrange an appointment – you will then be able to arrange a meeting at your convenience.
The branch covers all of Cotmanhay and its surrounding area, including Awsworth, Cossall, Eastwood, Heanor, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley, Stanley, West Hallam and further afield.
A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service was founded in 1907 and is now managed by Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose.

As always you and you loved one are made to feel so precious and cared for. All of the worry is eased by the care and attention to detail that all of the team at AW Lymn Cotmanhey provide. Michelle felt like a friend by the end. Such a personal service and nothing is too much trouble. Despite the awful circumstances we are all experiencing at the moment, Lymns did a beautiful service for Barrie. Special thanks to Michelle as she went way above & beyond just doing her job. She did everything posssible to make it as lovely as possible. Thanks also to the guys for the kind & respectful way they handled everything on the day. Thankyou too to Heather for the beautiful reading. So wanted to give them all a big hug! This isn't the first time we've used Lymns. They've never let us down. Wouldn't use anyone else. XX

Nothing was too much trouble despite the difficult circumstances we were faced with.

I would just to like to say thank you so much for your professionalism and for giving Jamie the best funeral I could of hoped for. The coffin was amazing all of the guests could not believe their eyes they had never seen anything like it. Also thank you for taking such good care of Jamie you did everything that was asked of you and I felt a great comfort knowing he was being so well looked after.
