Sitting within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chesham Bois Woodland Burial Ground in Amersham, Buckinghamshire is a peaceful and scenic woodland burial site. The woodlands have been allowed to grow naturally and harbours a variety of beautiful flora and fauna in the surrounding woods and chalk grasslands area. The natural burial ground is situated on the hillside and is lined with rows of trees such as ash, hazel, beech and hornbeam. The lush woodlands are home to many small birds, mammals and insects and it also nurtures many types of local wildflowers.

From woodland or natural burials to the interment of ashes, Chesham Bois Woodland Burial Ground offers a range of green funeral options. Keeping with the family’s wishes, the site is open to any type of green funeral, from a religious ceremony to a humanist or secular celebration.

Families can choose to have a traditional or modern send-off incorporating readings, toasts, songs, music or poetry. A memorial service can be organised in the chapel at the premises which is open to members of all faiths or denominations. The peaceful space can be also be used if friends or family members wish to quietly mourn or reflect on the life of the person who has died.

Chesham Bois Burial Grounds is a member of the Association of Natural Burial Grounds (ANBG), a national charity, and aims to promote best practices in providing natural burials.
