Thinking of you all today as you remember and honor Joe's life.
I have very warm memories of meeting Joe and Dorothy when Tim and I visited from California. Joe was so proud to show me his beautiful garden. He and Dorothy were such adorable lovebirds, sharing such a loving life together.

Our Grandad, we were truly blessed to have him, so many fond memories treasured. I will never forget sledging down the snowy slopes of Silsden Park with him in his late 60s, flying off the bumps, crashing... then carrying Grandad back up hill with a broken ankle! Legend :0)

Grandad Howard had patience to show you stuff like running up and down middleway chasing an iron hoop. Also in the garage planing away making the next garden gate or shelving units for the family. He ran his shed with military precision everything had its place and could knock up just about anything in an afternoon. He also turned driving instructor teaching driving skills in Steeton and Silsden railway carpark at the age of 13 which stood me in good stead to pass my driving test after 10 lessons... He'll be missed but never forgotten

John Crouton donated £50 in memory of Joe

I definitely learned a lot from Grandad, especially practical things at which he was very gifted. He was patient but also energetic and it seemed that he could build or fix anything from the collection of screws, bits of wood and string in his garage.

He also taught us a bit of wisdom, including not to take things too seriously. He liked nothing more than acting the goat and getting told off by Grandma. He was a great fella.
