Thinking of you Pat. I miss our chats together and your wicked sense of humour. You always, always, always had time to talk and to listen - you were so kind and generous to everyone.
I know it's been a while since your sudden passing and I'm sorry I couldn't be there for the funeral. I've decided to leave this message for you now, so you know that I still think of you often.
I pray that you found peace with your Mum and Sister - and you are happy.

Dear Pat

I find it so difficult to believe that you've left this earth. I would never have dreamt I would be attending your funeral.

I take comfort in knowing that you will be reunited with your beloved parents, and your dear sister Vivvy.

Take care with the Angels.

Love Cathy xx

Pat and I worked for the same organisation for many years. She always had time to talk to me, the majority about my pets and children. She loved animals so much. She had photos of them all around her desk. I was deeply saddened to hear the news of her passing. I will never forget her smile and kindness. This is a poem she once sent me. Rest in peace Pat.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

I had the good fortune to know and work alongside Pat every day over three and a half years. The kindest of human beings with a wonderfully cheeky sense of humour, total loyalty, strong faith and the best of work ethics. The news of her passing is just tragic, but I have nothing but happy thoughts of this wonderful lady and know the world was a better place because of her. I shall miss you Pat, but thank you. Nick x
