Dave will be sadly missed by everybody that knew him. He was a great dad. A top man.
Dispite his illness ,never complained. He always liked a laugh and a joke and was a real gentleman, kind and caring.
I'm so glad that he passed on to me a love for some of the things he loved, gardening, sports, wildlife and in particular watching the bird life.
A funny story from my childhood-
On a holiday we went to the fair and they had a ride with spinning cages. Dave took me on the ride and when we got off he actually looked green and didn't look well at all. We would always remind him of this and we would all have a good giggle--good times, happy days with you dave.

Dave was a lovely Brother-in-Law who loved to be around all the families' children - ready to play and quietly join in all the celebrations.
I remember baking an 'eggless' chocolate cake for a get-together years ago and when we cut the cake there was one big hole in the middle! Dave thought this was hilarious and never let me forget it!
Another lovely tale was that Dave started work in a garage in Selby after leaving school and went to work in shoes with deep crepe soles. These soles soaked up the oil at the garage and needed trimming with the scissors before he could go jiving on a Saturday night!

Much loved and respected brother who fought all the way to overcome his illness - never complaining when things got tough. He will always be remembered as a big 'gentle man' - despite his prowess on the sports fields who loved his family and garden -and was a friend to all who will be sadly missed. May He Now Rest In Peace.
