Monday, June 6th 2016 at 11.45am.

There will be family flowers only, but should you wish to make a donation in Michael’s name, there are two charities the family would like to support listed to the right of this page.

If you are able to join us on the day you are warmly invited to the reception afterwards at Leatherhead Golf Club, Kingston Road, Leatherhead, KT22 0EE. Please confirm your attendance by clicking the blue icon marked "Attend Funeral".

During a career spanning over 47 years Michael worked hard to inch himself up the ladder and provide for his family, something which he never failed to do. He had a formidable work ethic, an irreverent sense of humour and often did the unexpected, traits which now live on in his son and daughter.

Whilst he was not perfect, Michael’s children grew up knowing they were loved and when it came to the crunch he would be there when needed. As a big kid at heart children were his joy and most weekends he could be found down the park, or spending his money on them (and the dog) in the sweet shop opposite.

He was exceptionally proud of his family and never afraid to tell them how much he loved them. Many can lay witness to his compassion and kindness towards family, friends and those who were struggling in life too. He was always ready to help a friend or colleague and always tried to find a solution whatever the problem. He was often generous with his money, but never asked to be acknowledged for his effort, when he helped, he simply helped.

He was many things to many people, and although the family did not have the pleasure of meeting everyone he knew and worked with, since his death many have shared their personal, fond and funny memories with us.
We invite you now to share your thoughts and memories with us here to complete the picture of a much-loved and much-missed, man who had such a multi-faceted character.

Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.

i will never forget Michaels face when I asked to marry his daughter, and when he was a walking Sarah down the isle. He was the proudest dad ever! I will always remember our car journeys at 5:30am taking him to work in Woking and talking about everything and anything.

I will always remember how good of a grandad he was and how my children loved his Sid stories.

Michael taught me how to make sparkly jelly that I will make sure gets passed down from generation to generation.

Michael was the best ever at seeing someone walk to the kitchen and hinting he would like a cup of coffee.

I will miss you Grandad Big Blue Bear. Sleep well. X

Mick was brillant with my daughter Jade, he would take her to the park and send her home with an oversized bag of sweets, including black jacks, large ones not the small penny size ones.
Mick also took my wedding photos along with Sue, and every memory was captured, they both made my day special.
Mick and Sue were very supportive to my family when my sister died, for that i will always be very grateful and will never forget that.
Mick rest in peace. Lue xx

I don't have a pic of him but I do have mental snapshots which I'll retain - one of them being him sat, very relaxed, outside, in dappled sunlight, at the cafe at Caen Locks, saying he'd go there every day if he lived locally! Hopefully, that prompts a nice memory for Sue...

Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been struggling to try and find the words to say to you all as a family. I will be attending the service for Mike and I wish to express my sincere condolences to you, Sue, Sarah and the family.

I worked closely with Mike and owe a lot of where I am today to him, as he took me under his wing and taught me the DC role. Mike was definitely a one off character and remember lunch times down the pub and some of the stories he'd tell, they still make me laugh today.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Michael. I knew him when he was working at Intec about 8 or 9 years ago and he was always cheerful and fun to work with.

However, it is most unlikely, I'm afraid, that I will be able to attend his memorial service.

Very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I worked with Mike at Intec Engineering quite a few years ago. I produced some of the document control software for the company, and Mike was one of our main 'customers'. I enjoyed being on the same team, I appreciated his lively energy and his desire to do a good job meant he had high expectations for the software ... which kept us on our toes and we all produced a system we were proud of.

I will not be able to attend the service but I wish you all a joyful celebration of his life.

Best wishes,

Damian Helme.

I was very sorry to hear that Mike has passed away.

I knew, liked and worked with Mike at Intecsea in Woking. He was a character and there are not many of those about these days.

He was good at his job and always helpful.

I regret that I am unable to attend his memorial service as I am recovering from a bout of pneumonia.

My sincere condolences to you and your family.
