Malcolm was so kind and helpful-mending my concertina several times, practicing music with me and giving me encouragement. I shall miss him.
My blessings go to all the family. Maggie.

Dear Malcom, we as everyone will miss you terribly, although we did not see much of each other over the pass few years we still managed to keep in touch, remembering the old days as you do.From the times when you used to do turnings for our old company,Cottage furniture and joinery to playing and calling for first the north Cornwall ceilidh band, till more recently with Redwing. Your path was not an easy one but you always faced it with a smile and a shrug of the shoulders. I was also best man at your wedding to Linda and remember the birth of Bryony. They were good times and will remember them forever. Goodbye my friend and rest in peace, Love, Martin & Susanxx

A big part of the folk club and my memories of it. Always smiling, and always claiming another birthday! The mood always lifted when Malcolm walked in. He is missed. I will be there on the tenth.

Dear Malcolm, he will of course be missed by everyone he knew but especially by Susan and myself. We had known Malcom for many years and gone through many phases of his life since he was a young man. Trials and tribulations were no stranger to Malc but he managed them all in his stride and always came through smiling. I had the privalige of using his skills as a turner for many years in my own company and at the same time he was the caller in our band Redwing. We went and played at festivals and private functions for many years, always smiling. I was also best man at his wedding to Linda. It is with great regret that we will not be able to attend his funeral as we are away but our thoughts will always be with him together with many fond memories. RIP Malcolm Love Martin &Susan.

We moved away from Northam in March but we have known Malcolm since we went to live there in 1996 (over 20 years ago). Malcolm was then a member of what was a small group of singers and musicians that formed Bideford Folk Club. He was a fine singer and musician and became a close friend. We will, with everyone else who knew him, miss hearing his lovely singing voice and seeing his smiling happy smiling face around Bideford.

I am afraid I will not be able to attend Malcolm's funeral as I am away on holiday. Malcolm was a great friend over many years, Hilary was extremely fond of Malcolm and was always concerned about him. Whether dancing, playing, singing, painting, making wonderful things or joining in one of his mad schemes Malcolm always made the world a better place, and the people he met stronger and more joyful for his company.
