In loving memory of the late Pastor Verley Mignott who sadly passed away on 22 July 2014.

A deeply loved husband of Eileen and father to Lorissa and Alecia. Devoted grandfather of 4, brother to 6 siblings and uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews.

Verley touched many lives through school and prison ministries and the churches he pastored, in Nottingham where he lived, and also in the South West. His powerful yet peaceful demeanor will always be remembered, as will his smile that lit up any room he was in.

Flowers can be sent to A W Lymns or donations made to Hayward House Hospice, who cared so attentively for Verley in his last days. These donations can also be made through A W Lymns on 0115 9505875.

Come and celebrate his life with us on Friday 8 August 2014 (see further details). Service will start promptly at 11.00 am, so please arrive by 10.30 am.

Dress code: Colourful

Peace be with you

This message of condolence is very belated as I was not aware of Verley's illness and death. I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of such a warm, kind and humble man. I worked with Verley at Perry Road and held him in high regard, respect and much affection. He was a decent honorable man who did much to transform the lives of the men whom he counseled and to brighten the lives of his friends and colleagues. My heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Verley was wonderfully kind, and hugely influential whilst I was a prisoner at HMP Nottingham. I am now free - in every sense of the word, and today found the urge to try to make contact with him to tell him what God has done in my life since we last met. I am so sad to hear of his passing. God rest his soul.

Thank you Verley for the wonderful day you shared with myself and my wife Liz all those years ago.
It was a privilege to meet you, to sit and talk about your pigeons and to share the company of one of our sports true gentlemen. Our sincere condolences to your family.

I was very moved by the service held for Verley. It was worship in its purist form. Giving thanks to the Almighty for the gift that was Verley Mignott. Gone but never forgotten. May you all continue to soldier on, as was his way.

Pastor verley mignott, was my granddads close friend and i considered him my good friend too, he would always laugh and joke with my granddad, they both worked in the prison at perry road.
But the biggest thank you i could give him was that he was there when my granddad got sick, he was a blessing to have known him and i will always smile when i look at the sky.
