Mike was a former shipmates at HMS MERCURY and best man at my wedding in 1968. Sadly we lost touch but, I will always remember the dark haired handsome man that stood beside me that day. My condolences to Sheila and the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I'm another ex-student of his from Canterbury College, 2006-08. I remember his great sense of humour and how helpful and patient he was with us all. We called him a legend and thought he must have had some super powers in him to do so much with his time and his life while we couldn't even finish our essays on time! Thank you Mike for being such a great tutor and an inspiring person. You will be missed!

Very sad to hear this news! Mike was one of my lecturers at Canterbury College when I attended in 2006-2008 and I have very fond memories of his classes. He was very positive always jolly and always up for a laugh. The whole class loved him and we used to refer to him as a "legend"! Still to this day we speak of him - I pass my sincerest condolences to his family and I hope they are aware of the impact he had on all of us at such a special time in our lives! RIP Mike x
