Pierre was my brother, my friend, my best man, at my wedding and when I was young a father figure to me. We were parted by distance and did not see each other so often but whenever we did, maybe after a few years like good friends the meeting just seemed to carry on from the previous. one.
He was never judgemental. He was taken from us far too soon and I will miss him.

First met Pierre on an International summer fruit-picking camp in Cambridgeshire in "the good old days". Along with Linnie Divers and a group of other madcaps, we were drawn to Pierre because of his huge sense of fun, wit, energy and kindness. When not sabotaging local fruit factory conveyor belts, we were on ladders picking apples and plums in orchards. Mid-summer, in duffle coats, pockets and hoods laden with fruit for midnight feasts. Time off spent building human towers, cartwheeling joking. I shall miss the joy Pierre radiated. Roger will miss talking football!
