In loving memory of TERRY CARR who sadly passed away on Sunday 20th November 2016.
Mum had been an in-patient at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for a fortnight where she received excellent care.
Mum insisted on 'blanket silence' on her stay. We respect her decision not to tell anyone, we also respect her decision to have a private funeral.
At the service, there will be three mourners, Sharon, Dee and Chris. The christian service will be led by Rev. Charles Deacon followed by cremation.
This is scheduled for 9.45am on Friday 2nd December 2016 for anyone who would like to take a private moment at that time to remember her or even attend their own place of worship to pray.
Mum emphatically did not want any floral tributes, she would rather any monies go to the animal charity rescue 'Last Chance Hotel'. Most of you will already know how passionate she was about this amazing team of people and the animals they save.

Please feel free to write about your memories of Mum.......and upload photos too........Mum had friends far and wide and it would be lovely to make this page a place to share stories of her wide range of her experiences and adventures.
Mum treasured each and every one of you!
Fondest Wishes, from All her family x

She is gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

After both of us moving back to the U.K the telephone was used often.

Terry ate her first taco while in Calabasas, California, nearly 50 years ago. Ever the lady, Terry told us how very difficult it was to be ladylike while trying to keep a taco from falling apart. My family shared Terry's mirth over this event at the time, and the story has circulated among us "kids" for years. We eat a lot of tacos in So. Cal, and many a bite reminds of us of that time, back in the 70s, when Terry Carr stayed with our family.

On a trip Terry made years ago to California, my husband, Jack, and I had the joy of hosting Terry during her stay. One morning, I suggested to Terry that we go check out some garage sales in Bel Aire. Terry didn't seem too keen on this activity (looking through other people's discards), but, always the perfect guest, she came along willingly enough. At one of the homes, Terry came across a set of Christmas dishes that she adored. She couldn't stop talking about them! Terry ended up buying the set, and we packed each piece carefully before sending them to England. Later, Terry told me that she had used the set at Christmastime with her family. That was a fun day with a dear friend!

My beautiful, kind, fun loving nanny Tel
I still can't comprehend that you are not here anymore and the pain of loss I feel is overwhelming but so very thankful and lucky that I have so many wonderful memories, never a cross word and an absolute knowledge that we loved each other so much. It makes me smile to think of you up there with your mum,Dad, all your friends, and dogs whizzing around wearing your angel wings (hope they are lavender) and I know you would be grateful that you still had your own teeth and independence to the end, but I miss you, everything reminds me of you and then I realise all over again what I have lost. Hope you knew that you was cherished from your first breath till your last ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Terry and I met at 4 years old. We lived in the same road, so I must have known her longer than anyone.

I remember attending her birthday party where she ate all the strawberries.

I sat behind her at school in Leytonstone and we both got reprimanded by the sports teacher for wearing nail varnish.

We stayed friends through the teenage years, Terry’s marriage and two daughters.
After my move to Berkshire we still maintained a long distance friend ship.

I visited her when she lived in both St. Lucia and Portugal.

Terry was Matron of Honour at my marriage in 1986 to John.

After Terry moved to Dunmow and we moved to Perrotts Brook, we spoke on the phone at least once every week and visited one another on many occasions.

We both adored dogs and baby sat each others pets on many occasions.
I am so please she was able to attend my 80th birthday party in September.

I MISS YOU TERRY AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU

i never met Terry, but Terry has had a profound effect on this rescue, She has followed us at Last Chance for some time, probably knowing every dog that has landed at our rescue by name. A few weeks ago, she donated a car, her car to us, "its not for you" she said, when i thanked her, " its for the dogs", my reply was that i would be hard pushed finding a dog that had passed his test, she said it would be fine for me to chauffer them until such a time that one could be found, or words to that effect anyway. I only ever had that one conversation with her, and we were laughing, a lot. Denise has said that we would have got along great, and thinking back on that one telephone conversation, I think perhaps that Denise is right. I never met Terry, but i will remain sad, and i will mourn her passing, and the loss is mine, for i never met Terry.
