I'm very saddened to discover that my school best friend Carlton had passed away. Back then he already had a love of independant local radio and we toured some of the Midland stations together. I remember the late evenings with him tuned into Jeremy Beadle on LBC. We were both into gadgets as kids and I still remember the time we transported the family VCR and black and white video camera up and down the street in a wheelbarrow! How cruel and untimely his passing is, peace and stregth to all his family. Cliff Ainsworth x

Such a sad and unexpected loss. I had the pleasure of working with Carlton in both Leicester and Northampton. He was unfailingly courteous and was universally trusted and respected. My condolences to his family.

Rest in peace, Carlton.

I regret that an urgent dental issue will prevent me from being with you on Tuesday but I will be with you in spirit.

Dear Jo, we are both desperately sad for you and all the family. Carlton was a wonderful man, always smiling, always cheerful, a giver not a taker. The world is undoubtedly a sadder place without him. With our deepest sympathy, David and Lucinda.

Jo -

I don't know any adequate words except to say how sad I am, particularly for you and, of course, your family. Carlton was a very very special person.

As you know I am currently in Oz so cannot attend the funeral. I'm sorry. I'll contact you when I get back to the UK.

Much love and best wishes

Jane

Carlton was a colleague with whom I worked closely on the National Council of Independent Monitoring Boards: a gentle, thoughtful, caring and highly competent man, a much valued friend on the NC. Was devstated to hear about his brain tumour andnow of his death. My condolences to Jo and all the family.

Really sad to hear this news. Carlton was my boss at Mercia in the 90's. Always supportive, encouraging and kind. Such lovely man and fondly remembered.
