In loving memory of David Alan Brown "Dave" who sadly passed away on 17th December 2016
David Brown, a husband to his beloved wife Ellen, a devoted Father of Four Sons, a Grandfather of Five and a Great Grandfather of three, as well as a wonderful father figure to his two Daughter in laws .
He attended Pelham Road Junior School followed by Bexleyheath Graham Road School.
After doing his National Service stationed in Egypt, serving in the Royal Army Service Corp, he met his wife to be Ellen in 1952 at the Embassy Dance Hall in Welling. They married in 1955 and moved to Bexleyheath in 1958, living in the same house for nearly 60 years.
Most of David's working life was as a car mechanic in Bexleyheath after a few other jobs. He then worked closely with 2 of his sons, one in the Plumbing trade and the other in the carpentry trade.
He was a dab hand at almost everything around the house and Garden. "A jack of all trades but a master of none" as they say.
He was a keen member of the Belvedere Male Voice Choir but gave it up so he could join in with his young families activities...Sports, Fishing and Boys Brigade especially.
After a very active life bringing up his four sons, working hard and enjoying many family holidays he finally retired from British Telecom to enjoy time with Ellen.
They travelled to many destinations enjoying holidays and making many lovely memories together.
A keen follower of Charlton Athletic until he changed his alliance to Support Arsenal.Shocking !!
David was a Very proud Grandfather and especially proud of his Great Granchildren, knowing that his part in the Brown family will go on into future generations.
Everyone that knew David experienced his great sense of humour, normally being harmfully ridiculed by his Micky taking or his endless stories repeated over and over again especially those of Egypt.
We all have some lovely memories of David ( Dad, Grandad) and his stories and legacy will be with us for ever.
Said our final goodbye to you on Saturday Dad, spreading your ashes in the beautiful gardens with the beautiful Roses, fish pond and even the earth worms at Eltham Crem.
You have been missed and will be forever Dad but you will never be forgotten. We celebrated your life in style with a few drinks and stories from all that knew you.
It was heart warming the amount of people that attended. Keep watching over me Dad. In my thoughts now and forever. R I P ..Geoff
Rest in Peace Uncle David, you will forever be in our hearts and remembered for your wonderful smile and incredible sense of humour, you always managed to brighten the room wherever you went and I am sure it will be no different in the next life .
Saying goodbye today was truly the hardest thing I have ever done. You were my incredible grandad and a phenomenal friend. I will cherish our time together for the rest of my life and will continue to make fun of the family in your absence. Sleep well and wait for us all on the other side. All my love, Steve xxxx
Attended Dave's funeral earlier today. A lovely service well supported by family and friends, It was a pleasure to be part of the celebration of Dave's life....Rest in Peace

Uncle Dave, you will be forever in my heart. Michelle even remembers every word of the "song" you taught her as a child and you were hers and mine favourite.
The world is a much sadder place without you in it but remembering you brings a huge smile to our faces.
