In loving memory of Jean Mary Hitchcock who sadly passed away on 4th January 2017. Devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a vivacious friend who loved getting to know everybody she met. Unswervingly positive, a music lover, animal lover, people lover and stylish dresser. She remained cheerful despite her illness in recent years and her smile still lit up the room. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service to be held at 12.00 noon on Monday 23rd January at St Mary's Church, 138 High Street, West Malling, Kent ME19 6NE, followed by a reception at The Swan, 35 Swan Street, West Malling ME19 6JU

Thank you very much Anne. It meant a great deal to us that although you couldn't be there is person, you were there is spirit and thank you for your lovely prayer. It helped us no end to have your input as we tried to arrange a fitting tribute to mum. Hope you're keeping well - sounds like you are still keeping very busy! Katie xx

I am finding it hard to come to terms with the loss of such a long-standing friend, part of my life for always. Her parents, Auntie Mary and Uncle Jim were a constant in my childhood, Jean and I went to the same school, lived nearby each other and the doors to both our houses were always open to us both. Her recall of people in Blackburn, her amazing ability to stay in touch with us, her lovely chats when Charles was probably at choir rehearsal, her warmth and generosity. She shared so much of her life, her children, their weddings, all a part of mine. Memories are flooding back and I will treasure them along with the pictures of us at times in our life from seven years old till recently. I send you all fond love, and her strength to cope with these sad times, Diana
