In loving memory of "Chris" - who sadly passed away on 11th January 2017

Ceri Coulby (nee Evans) wrote

The Chris I knew was a shining light. Strong. Determined. I know that Chris preferred to be referred to as him in later life but Chris was female and thought of herself that way when I knew her so I can only write this on the memories I have. I hope Chris wouldn't mind too much.
She didn't take any nonsense from anyone. She was brave, forthright and occasionally this got her into trouble with teachers that sought to close down her honesty and confidence. They never succeeded. Chris stood up for me against Mrs MacDonald, our bullying maths teacher who continually put me down and shouted at Chris. She always stood up to be counted when her friends were bullied or put down. She was the most loyal, fierce friend. Her capacity for love was enormous, and her love for Jenny unconditional. She was kind, generous and very gentle at times. She had a great appreciation of the spiritual and I hope this helped her in later life.
Chris lived life to the maximum of its potential. She did not concern herself with rules and norms, she grabbed fun and adventure whenever and wherever she could. Her loss is a sadness, and the world a little dimmer without her in it. She deserved better, and I hope now she has it, and is at peace. A bit of our hearts go with you Chris. You will be remembered. All my love, Ceri xxxx

So sad to hear you are gone. Will always remember how you and Jenny had me in stitches in our child development classes and that I would be sat there so shy but giggling away. I remember sitting on the school field at Tavy college during lunch breaks, I never had a huge amount to say as I was so quiet. But I always knew if I was with you and Jenny, if anyone bothered me, I would b looked after! I remember you telling off a teacher for me once. Wont ever forget those days, rest in peace chris xxxx

I am extremely saddened and shocked to have been told this, and with memories flooding back I remember when we used to date, seems so long ago now.

The day you knocked on my door my life changed forever and now life will never be the same again. Your my crazy best friend that made my school years some the best years of my life, when it could could have been so different. It was privilege to know you and share our troubles and our dreams. We laughed, we cried, we walked, we talked and we shared so much.

You taught me step out the box and live a little.
You always backed my corner, you fought for me without me ever having to ask.

As long as I live you will live. I will carry on laughing and breaking those comfort zones. I will always remember and you will always be loved. Xxx

It is only with the heart than one should see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye. You will take a piece of my heart with you Chrissy. I will miss you, until we meet again may your God go with you xxxx
