Many memories of you Lewis, after working in SCE for quite a while. Your humour,kindness, total dedication to your students. They were so lucky to have you and of course, yellow stickies all over your files. Rest in peace.

Good memories of sitting in Lewis's light filled conservatory with a glass of wine and putting the world to right.

Dear Lewis  It has been a pleasure getting to know you over the last few months.  I am so appreciative  of the time I was able to spend with you.  Your quiet dignity and strength in the face of all that you were dealing with was amazing.    Thank you Lewis.

I will always remember you with fondness Lewis - it must be over 30 years, I think. And of course, I will also always be grateful for the gift of meeting Gina through you. I am only regretful that in later years we could not find the way to maintain our friendship consistently. Rest In Peace Dear Friend.

Dear Lewis, a good friend, a kind supportive colleague with a wry sense of humour and a conscientious teacher, respected by your students. Many people will miss you.

Poor Lewis, my friend and my conscience. My lasting memory will be walking round a reservoir one evening back in January after you had received the news that you had a cancer which had spread to your lungs that could not be operated on. The dark and the mist was closing round us as we talked quietly about life and death and I felt as if we could have been two people having the same conversation 2,000 years ago. It wasn't that cancer that got you in the end, but another one. Unwanted and so very sad.

We remember Lewis as a great friend and neighbour and will miss him a lot. Farewell to a fine gentleman. May you rest in peace.
