Richard was actively involved in the planning of his funeral and was keen for it to be a wonderful occasion, giving you a personal farewell from himself.

Dress code:

Richard requested that all guests wear black to his funeral with one brightly coloured accessory to bring a splash of joy to the occasion.
E.g.
Men: pocket handkerchief, shoes, tie, shoe laces, belt, cravat.
Women: scarf/pashmina, brooch, bag, shoes etc.

Flowers will be provided by the Haworth Family, but Richard requested that kind donations be made to Macmillan Caring Locally, as the Macmillan Unit in Christchurch cared for him so well in his last 8 months.

Wake:

The wake will be held after the funeral service at

Hiker Café
Hengistbury Head
Broadway
Bournemouth
Dorset
BH6 4EN

We look forward to seeing you all there ?

As a Paramedic you'd think I'd be a bit hardened to news like this. The truth is, I'm not. I'm currently sat here with more than one tear in my eye, i can assure you. I had so much 'latest' news to tell you and now I feel quite numb.

I feel that I have no right to be angry but I am. I'm angry at the disease and I'm angry at myself for not getting in to see you once more before you passed. We kept in touch via Facebook, but recently there had been no response.

I salute you Richard, the moment I first met you I admit, it was a dicey moment. But I instantly knew that you were one of life's good guys! Your girls will grow up the way that you moulded them and for that you can be so proud.
Your duty here on earth is done, may you forever rest in peace.

With an extremely heavy heart I say farewell but not goodbye. Love. To your entire family.

Regards

Gary

Richard was a top guy always with a smile and pleased to talk. he had a real zest for getting out and being active. He has been missed at work. My thoughts are with Richard's children and wider family and friends.
