Vernon has done an excellent job in writing about Mum and I am proud that I am one of Mrs Lye's Boy's!

Although I live in Pembrokeshire, my regular contact was by phone and it has hit me that I cannot pick the phone up and have a chat with Mum.

But I am glad I made memories in taking Mum on 2 or 3 holidays with me, to the Fens. As I was divorced, it enabled me to get away on a holiday and to have company with Mum. She was excellent company and she enjoyed the numerous trips we made to Lincoln Cathedral, Leicester Cathedral to see the new tomb of Richard III and I even arranged a mystery trip for her... a day trip to Cambridge without me. She went with Ann's sister Jen, and her husband Mick.

She also loved Burleigh House and our visits to the other towns in the area. We both got a holiday and I now have those memories which I will treasure.

The donations will go to a small dog rescue organisation in West Wales, called West Wales Poundies. They rescue dogs from local authority dog pounds before they are put to sleep after the legal 7 day period. I got my dog RJ there, and mum loved him as much as she did all dogs. The organisation is very small and they are always begging for money to fund their kennels and for vets bills. They do not have the resources of the RSPCA and the Dogs Trust. When you rescue a dog from a dogs home, you save their life and the life of the dog that can take their place in the kennel, until it finds a new loving home.

PLEASE DONATE and help save more dogs from being put to sleep. Mum loved dogs and she was looked after by a dog, until she was found by the owner, who came back for his dog. I am posting a photo of RJ. If you are looking for a dog, go to a rescue centre instead of giving money to a dog breeder.

I will miss Mum, as will Vernon and Julian.

Patricia, also known as Pat, Patsy ( to the grand children) and Mum to us sons. Mum was a truly amazing woman.
She was always Happy, Cheerful and very outgoing. She is truly loved by her large family and many friends. She was at the heart of the community in West Lavington and spent her life helping others.
Mum would talk to anyone and made many friends. Mum ran the West Lavington over 60's friendship club for many years- well into her late 70's. Mum was very active and always riding her bicycle or walking everywhere.
After mum lost Roy( Dad) in 1995 mum had to restart her life and she became very independent and traveled to the places she wanted to go. She loved Scotland, Edinbrough Tattoo and our close relations there. She visited Austria in the winter to go to the Vienna classical concerts and enjoy the sights( the mountains) and the culture. Other places mum loved were the flowers of Amsterdam, the isle of Man and Malta. She often got on the bus and went to Bournemouth for the day-just for fun.
Mum loved Devon and Cornwall and visited most stately homes and Gardens in the south.
Mum was very family orientated and was very proud of all her sisters, brothers, children, cousins, newphews, nieces and beyond. Most turned up for her 70th birthday party in 2003 at The Churchill.
Mum loved animals very much and she offered dog sitting to her friends and would never take a penny.
Mum loved so many of us and she knew she was loved in return.
The world is a less friendly place without Pat. As a tribute to Pat why not say hello to a stranger! be nice to a stranger! help a stranger! What you give out is what you get back.
Mum had a saying "if i can , I will".
Mum. God bless you.
Your birthday boy xxx
