Mike I still think of you every time I sit in the Apple Blossom Cafe and see the shop opposite and remember the conversations we had and the special moments we shared together. I was honoured to be your carer and you will always have a special place in my heart. Wizz is there with you now so enjoy it up there together forever. Much love Leigh x

I had a bag full of respect for Mike, like many others he gave me my start in working life and I have forever been grateful. When I worked in Exeter on the SD360, flight ops was always an open door and I would frequently pop in to see the "team". Hazel and Jo you ran the show with the experience of Mike at the helm. As you mentioned, Mike had time for everybody, he had to make tough decisions, that was his job but he was very much a people's person. I can still hear Mike reminding me to button up my jacket while on duty! Rest in Peace Mike, thank you and God Bless.Angus

Dear Liz and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was such a fantastic person - a real gentleman and fine aviator. I flew with him on the F27 with Air UK when he had newly joined. We had an approach into Southampton in low visibility. After the go around, we asked ATC to make another approach from the other direction before diverting to Bournemouth - it was a good idea and could have worked! One of the many gifts he must have passed on to his fledglings. I am truly sorry. Kind regards, Lorraine

Such a Gentleman, I was at Stansted with Air UK when Mike was our Flight Safety Officer and flew many ' jump seat ' rides with him on the F100. Such a nice guy.
Condolences to Liz and the family.
Alan.

Dear Liz, Craig and Jeremy. Viv and I were very sad to hear of your loss. Mike and I were good mates and enjoyed many a game of squash before he took over from me as Senior Captain at NWI and he moved on to better things at Flybe. He was surely one of the best and most competent pilot its been my privilege to meet in a vey long career. A true Officer and gentleman RIP my old mate

Just been informed of this dreadful news, Mike was a true gentleman, friend and great pilot. The family must be gutted on his early passing.

I remember when mike was getting interested in Civilian flying when he was a flight commander on 54 Squadron at Colt, he wanted to get his hands on something different so through Liz we teamed up and he would come along on my regular NWI DUS trips, wanted to do circuits so what was convenient? Bruggen where he was formally based so on the way back and bash the circuit with no charge!! then onward to Norwich, he grasped the metal with ease, he was a natural for light aircraft as he was on the Jaguar, too many stories to tell now.

Rest in peace my friend, and build some other flying machine upstairs.
