A funny thing happened this weekend and Rach and I had a strong sense of you ribbing me affectionately for my silly answer! Just thinking of you even more intensely than usual. You are so cherished and so missed. Your name is engraved on the BHF Heart of Steel now. ....immortalised in our hearts and daily thinking , AND in steel up North! I love you forever x

I've only just come across this page, and wanted to share some happy times. Joe & I were together for a year - before his job offer to Saudi and his diagnosis. He was the 1st love of my life and will always hold a special place in my heart xx what a man x

  • I only just found this page. Joey was a school friend from St Mary's College, Hull. We played rugby together, went on holiday (as a group of 17 lads) to Spain, and met up most years at our local pub in Hull at Christmas time. As part of a group of his school friends, we walked in Joey's name 25 miles for charity last year, completing the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peak Challenge. This year we walked the same distance in the Peak Distance for Joey. On behalf of all his school friends from St Mary's and especially this group of walkers -- Tony, John & Mike Garland, Tom Cunnah, Nick Kelly, Carl Iszatt, Eddie Bayliss, Danny Aylwin, Reza Alvani, Chris Cuthill (his teacher and year head), William Palfreman, and me (Owain McNeill) -- Joey was a wonderful person, a good man and friend, and greatly missed by us all. Thank you for sharing your memories of him. Owain x
