In loving memory of Robert James Down who sadly passed away on 9th November 2017. A generous, big hearted man who loved his family deeply. A man with a great sense of humour, a honest and fair man who worked hard. A man who never backed down from what he thought was right. A patient man who loved his job as a senior support worker with people who have learning disabilities. A man who shared his time and knowledge, who taught people life skills, who taught people how to live life to the best of their capabilities. A man who never, ever gave up. The strongest man who would not be beaten. A man who never lost his zest for life, a man who never turned his back on anyone who needed him. A man who carried on working with vulnerable people long after he should have retired. Because he loved it.
Rob loved his daughter and grandchildren to the ends of the earth and was so very proud of them. A man who was loved by those who knew him. A man who has left a huge hole in all our lives that will never be filled. A man who was loved by all of us.

Goodbye little brother, this is the longest 'walkabout' of your life this time, and you will find peace at the end of your journey. I will always have memories of the four of us growing up together with mum and dad..RIP

Dad (Robert James Down)
Dad, I have so many treasured memories of spending so much time with you.
You were always there for me. We shared lots of time having fun and laughter shedding: blood; sweat; and tears together.
Although the one story you always told everybody was of you sending me to my room…….. I can’t recall why, but I do remember I had no intention of staying there! So I climbed out of my bedroom window, down the drain pipe to escape, to find you, knowing my every move, always one step ahead of me, stood at the bottom, waiting for my feet to reach the ground!

I Love and Miss you so Much Dad,
You will Remain in my Heart Forever,
Love Always,
Lorraine.

In loving memory of granddad

Everyone leaves memories once they have passed away,
But the ones we have shared with you granddad will be treasured everyday.
I always remember being sat on his lap,
Even when I was much too big and probably broke his back.
He was one who never really grew old,
Always making jokes but with a heart of pure gold.
Our humour was much the same,
And I even beat him at his own game.
When I was only four,
He said my hair looked much like straw.
So I was quick to say,
That his looked like mouldy hay.
You should've seen the look on his face,
I think I definitely put him in his place.
The sky has gained a bright new star,
So we can always look up and know where you are.
I hope that you have found peace at rest,
I'll always love you granddad, you really were the best.

Lots of love, Beth xxx
