In loving memory of Florio Santi Occhini who sadly passed away on 6th December 2017, at the age of 86 years old.

He was born on the 1st April 1931 in Civitella della Chiana, a commune in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy. He was the beloved son of Severino Occhini (1902-1984) and Gemma Occhini (ne Romanelli: 1907-1999) and brother to Flora Occhini (born 1933) and Guido Occhini (born 1939) who both survived him.

He was also the beloved husband of Monique Andrée Occhini (ne Petit: born 1937), and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in the March 2017. He is also survived by his sons Mauro Christian Occhini (born 1957), Daniel Aldo Occhini (born 1960) and Fabrice Jean-Pierre Occhini (born 1965), his daughter in laws, Sharon Occhini (born 1959) and Carmel Occhini (born 1972),as well as his grand children Rhiannon Madeleine Occhini (born 1996), Mickayla Eloise Occhini (born 1997), Alexander William Occhini (born 2001) and Nicole Ruth Andrée Occhini (2006).

Having spent his younger years in occupied Italy during WW2 (where his father was a local policeman) he attended a local seminary where he was educated by monks, until starting his Military Service after which he came to the UK to work as a student nurse in Bexley Hospital (where he met Monique, his future wife) and stayed working in the medical profession acheiving registration as a RMN, before leaving and working as an engineer for Cray Electronics for a number of years. After being made redundant, he and four colleagues decided to set up a new precision engineering business called ROWS Engineering and continued working until he retired.

However, during his working life he was initiated into the Masonic Brotherhood which became an important part of his life, joining the Universal Lodge 8219, where he was the Master of the lodge on more than one occassion. He was also a founding member of the Universal Chapter, as well as attaining the 30th Degree (Rose Croix).

He enjoyed over 15 years retirement with Monique, travelling frequently abroad and in the UK, as well as continuing his passion for the Masonic Brotherhood, where he was granted the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden for the Province of West Kent in Aug 2017, before he passed later in the year.
