In loving memory of Laurence George Vellino who sadly passed away on 12th January 2018

Georgina Vellino wrote

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

The moment that you left me, my heart was split in two; one side filled with memories; the other died with you.
I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep; and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek.
Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday; but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain; you see life has gone on without you, but will never be the same.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone…
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

I first met Laurie nearly 25 years ago, He helped get started in the bricklaying world & we became good mates. He was such a great person and character, he was always making me laugh with his famous one liners. I hold great memories of those days, working along side him plus having the occasional beer or two after work.
I will always be grateful to you mate for all the great advice you gave me & for being a great mate, im so glad that our paths crossed all those years ago and will hold those great memories forever! Good bye my old mate🍻

Although I didn’t know you for a very long time Laurie, I certainly had the chance to see what a brilliant man you was. You was a cherished friend to so many and an absolutely family man. Thank you for showing me how much a man could be. You’ll never be forgotten.
