Fond memories of the M.Sc. Palynology course in Sheffield as a participant and later as part of the teaching team. Ted looked after the course for many years and supported, helped and befriended the many students in his care. His passing is a loss both to palynology, Sheffield and the bonhomie he engendered in students and staff.
