In loving memory of our wonderful Mum Ruth West (goofy Ruthie) who we will all miss greatly.
Mum had a call from all her departed friends (invite only) to join them for a special reunion party.
She was a mother, a friend, an incredible listener and a great inspirer of art, literature and life knowledge.

We invite you to share your memories, in words or pictures how ever funny, sad or poignant .

Paul Arber donated £20 in memory of Ruth

Rest in Peace dear Ruth. I t was a delight acting with you and particularly directing you in 'Find The Lady' at Redbridge Players in 1992. I'll always remember your bouncy personality and the biggest smile ever xx

Ruthie. I can't believe you are no longer with us. What a wonderful woman you were. You brought love and laughter to us all. I will always have great memories of you which go back to the days when I dated Alison. I will never forget the elocution lessons you gave me ( hilarious!)! nor will I forget watching you in your many amdram performances which were actually rather good. The Roses of Eyam still haunts me...
Have a good afterlife Ruthie West. Go join your besty friends who are waiting for you. Love and peace. Russell xxx

Ruthie, my dear friend who embraced life. We enjoyed our visits to art exhibitions, the theatre, cinema, lunches and always coffee and chat. She was so young at heart - she got a tattoo of a beautiful butterfly on her shoulder to celebrate turning 70. A very special person, kind, caring and always considerate of those in need.
I will miss her greatly.

Ruth

My earliest memories of the West household was how fun it was to be there
Whist most of our Mums were bothered about the cushions being straight and the house immaculate those things were not important to auntie Ruth.
In Alison's room we were allowed to jump on the beds and make a big mess and not have to tidy up. I remember the brick which acted as one of the beds legs which everyone wacked their toe on regularly and of course 'Monkey' who featured in that room and house for as long as I can remember.
Ruth used to let us hang off the side and back of the lounge furniture to play our favourite game 'I'm falling'
The house was always filled with fun, laughter and happiness. I never recall her shouting or losing her temper. She also make a mean spaghetti bolognaise
She was a kind, interesting, intelligent lady who always listened and had time for everyone. She had a husky soft voice and always a smile. The glass was always half full with Ruth.
She will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her
May she rest in peace and be free from any further pain
Our thoughts and our love go to Alison and David xx

Some of my fondest memories from childhood were cycling around the local streets with Alison, all we did was laugh hysterically and do silly things as children do. We always had fun times together & I would spend many a night at Ruth’s house having dinner with Alison and David after School. Ruth's home was always relaxed and fun and we got away with doing crazy things although once Alison & I pushed it too far when we stuck our finger in Ruth’s newly made Victoria sponge cake and got told off ! During recent years I’ve spent lots of enjoyable afternoons with Ruth having coffee and chats in the café in Wanstead High Street. Ruth joined a meditation group I belong to and loved it from the start. She enjoyed the whole concept of the inward search for peace and happiness. Ruth was interesting and open and we could chat about anything. She looked at life from a different angle and was quite spiritual. Being independent myself we always had lots to chat about and there a never moments of silence. Her attitude and carefree outlook on life was wonderful and I know the most simple things gave her so much pleasure. I will miss her dearly. Shelley x

So glad to have known you Ruth. Your feisty, confident outlook was inspirational. I'll miss our phone chats, sharing thoughts on books, the arts, and life in general. How too can I forget the fun we all had in beautiful Tuscany in 2012, enjoying Pisa's history and, of course, coffee and cakes in Lucca. Cheers Ruth.
