In loving memory of Derek Andrew Eades who sadly passed away on 9th March 2018
Derek left school at 16 and started work in the office of a builders merchant but not happy with this he tried a couple more jobs before deciding on a career in ladies hair styling. He started his apprenticeship at Etienne in Kingston upon Thames and subsequently became the manager. Being fed up with the same old routine Derek decided that a change was required so enlisted into the Merchant Navy and worked as a hairdresser on a cruise ship for a year seeing the world.
On his return he started his own business in Walton on Thames and Headlines the Ladies Salon was started where he met Kay. He also opened a Gents Outfitters just around the corner, called Stephen Tremayne.
This all allowed him to enjoy his passion for cars that are to numerous to mention, but lets say they were always good ones and if not Derek made them very good, He also developed a keenness for golf which he was passionate about and enjoyed immensely.
Derek opened another branch of Headlines in Hersham at The Halfway and after a period of time deciding that his legs were no longer able to withstand hours and hours on them all day he decided to invest in his hobby of carpentry and started to design and install bespoke kitchens. After a short period of time a shop in Weybridge was opened for Kitchen designs and Derek carried on fitting kitchens until his retirement
Kay and Derek married on St Valentines day in 1978 and they had a daughter Rebecca who married Joe, They have given him two lovely Grand daughters Sofia and Eva
Unfortunately Derek suffered two minor strokes a couple of years ago that he recovered from and was making good progress, he then suffered a third more serious stroke which caused his untimely death on 9th March 2018 just before his 75th Birthday
