In loving memory of Michael 'Mick' McKitten who sadly passed away on 27th March 2018
Funeral service to take place at Sherwood Forest Crematorium (Ollerton) on the 27th April 2018 at 12.30pm

The family wish for there to be no floral tributes, Mick was a regular attendee at the Renal Unit at Nottingham City Hospital and spoke fondly of the staff and so donations will be collected on the exit of the chapel where monies raised will be donated in his memory to the unit where he was so highly thought of.

If you are unable to attend and wish to contribute please send donations directly to the family.

Micks wake will be held at the Clipstone Miners Welfare, one of his old haunts where he enjoyed a pint after a long hard day at work at Clipstone pit. He was fond of the welfare and so it feels only fitting to celebrate his life where he had such good times. There will be a buffet, tea and coffee available to all who would like to attend. There will be a ‘free’ drink on Mick where we will all raise a glass in his memory and to thank him for being such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend that he was to all who knew him.

Help us by sharing your fond memories and stories with us, we would love to meet you. We will be arriving at approximately 1.30pm.

The family wish to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.

I have known Mick for the whole of my career in transplantation, especially so for the last few years as his main nurse. I have very fond memories of him and it was always a pleasure to see him. I will miss his lovely smile and the chats that we had.

  • Thank you so much for all the care you gave to our dad Jo, he spoke of you many a time. The doctors said his transplant kidney was working well right to the end. This is testament to the care you gave him and all the guidance and support. We simply cannot thank you enough. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Nicola and all the McKitten family xxx
