In loving memory of John McQueenney who sadly passed away on 24th March 2018
John was widowed in April 2007, soon after this he was diagnosed with liver problems and lung cancer, after radiotherapy he was on the mend. He became a loving dad and brilliant grandad to his 4 grandchildren. In 2016 he again fought another cancer, having 4 operations in 3 months, each time he did not give up the fight and he became stronger.
He enjoyed family get togethers, meals, nights at dog racing, and enjoyed time with his grandchildren, he enjoyed a gamble on the dogs and
horses.
In March this year he was diagnosed with liver cancer and sadly there was nothing the doctors could do. John went home from Hospital where he spent his last few days of life, this was his request.
During these last days even knowing it was the end he stayed strong and high spirited for his family. At the very end he told us he was ready to go, on the day he took his last breath he was surrounded by his family whom he adored. It was very sad for the family and he will be hugely missed by family, friends, and everyone who knew him. He was a humorous character and loved to joke about.
We will miss him but he will never be forgotten and will be fondly remembered by all.
He is reunited with his wife Pauline McQueeney and he deserves to now be free from pain and suffering after years of fighting. Rest in peace xxxx

Pops, you will never know how proud of you and respectful I am, not just because you'd turned a corner over the last decade and "changed yourself", but also for your determination to fight and beat your various illness's.
Unfortunately you conceded with the last one as you said you'd had enough and had come to terms with the inevitable!
My only comfort from this is that you remained strong for us all during your last days.
Hoping you now get to R.I.P. Pops X

The way he changed his life around over the last 9 years has been nothing short of amazing. The huge battles he had fought and won with his health would have broken a lot of people. But the courage he showed when he knew his time was numbered will forever be in my head. The Saturday before he left us laughing and joking in his hospital bed was our last really happy although sad get together. Love you Johnny xx
