I first met Paul - my father-int-law - some 14 years ago at Sandra and Kevin's wedding reception. He was a bit scary, had arms like tree trunks and reminded me of a mafia don. I very quickly found out however that within this man beat an absolute heart of gold. There are lots of things that I will fondly remember about Paul; his superb impression of a chicken, his infamous long short cuts, his rendition of Ernie the Fastest Milkman in the West, and of course, "You'll wonder where the yellow went...". Most of all though I will remember the generosity, kindness, and helpfulness that he so often showed to me and Max and our girls. Throughout his serious illness Paul showed immense courage and dignity. May he now rest in peace. I couldn't have wished for a better father-in-law. Thank you Paul, I love you.

This photograph is one of my favourites of Paul - when he met and had a long chat with Gillian Lawson, the co-founder of BNI in the UK and pioneer of BNI in Europe. It made his day.

Dear Paul and Nina
A long and at many times difficult path born with brave hope and faith for a future together, sadly not possible today. Paul's always helpful and fastidious nature will live on in many hearts of all his friends and family.
My thoughts are with you Paul today.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Nina and the family at this very sad time.

I feel very privileged to have known Paul, first as a BNI colleague and then as a friend. He was a real gentleman. It was very apparent that he loved to help others and would happily give of his time to help and advise whenever needed.

He inspired me with his positive outlook and his determination to keep trying. Over the past year, when I have faced health challenges, he would share things that made him laugh, encouraging me to look on the bright side, taking one day at a time and to keep trying. Paul will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Paul,
I really enjoyed being with you in that quiet time you and I had together setting up the Surbiton BNI meeting room each week.
I learnt so much from you. Not just about cars and how to get to places the most efficient way. I learnt what it is to be human, to not give in just because life is getting tougher. To understand that every moment we have is valuable and should never be undervalued. And, that giving is most definitely the best way to gain in life.
I will miss you but never forget you.
Fondest wishes
Gary Coulton
