In loving memory of Louise Hammersley who sadly passed away on 4th April 2018

Louise loved life and planning what to do next with it. She was never happy unless she had at least two holidays to look forward to and would pack as much into them as possible (and sometimes including me).

Louise was not keen on spending lots of time indoors so she carefully balanced redecorating/remodeling the house with more fun activities such as climbing, cycling, walking, running, skiing and kayaking. I think that the only reason that anything was done to the house was because it needed 'sorting out'!

Louise cared deeply for people and was even willing to give up nice days for friends and family.

I feel tremendously privileged that Louise wanted to live with me, let alone marry me. I will never forget her smile, especially the cheeky one that she used when laughing at me.

Please share your memories of her and remember the good things that came from being her friend.

I have added few pictures from her life here and in this link

In memory of Louise. Louise and I met at uni through Alison and became good friends, she was the first person I met that was doing one of my chemistry classes at the same time as me. After uni we stayed friends and tried to catch up whenever. Like Alison I also have fond memories of Louise having various catch ups over coffee, dinner or cinema trips, however, on at least 2 occasions she did try to help me overcome my fear of height including a trip to go ape. The funniest memory I have of Louise happened at my hen do last year at Stobo Castle what started of as 2 friends have a casual Sunday morning swim up and down the pool turn into an unofficial reinactment of the woman’s swimming final from the Olympics. In the past 2 years we possibly haven’t seen as much of each other however I like to think that was because her and Charles were off having fun adventures climbing, kayaking, Munro bagging etc. My thoughts go out to Charles and the rest of Louise’s family at this time.

Louise and I met as preschoolers and became close friends on our high school bus journeys. As two strong willed teenage girls, we disagreed constantly and fell out more than once, but always found our way back to one another. My very favourite memories of Louise aren’t the adventurous pursuits or days out, even though she had planning a day at the Fringe down to a fine art! I will especially miss the afternoons and evenings we spent in various flats, houses and coffee shops putting the world to rights, or, as Louise would say, “having a natter”. Louise was exuberant, sincere and caring, and it was a joy to see how happy her and Charles made each other. I will miss her. Our thoughts are with Charles and Louise’s family

One of the few times I managed to persuade Louise to stay still long enough for a photo!

When working with Louise her energy and enthusiasm was infectious. She was a loss when she moved to another team and an even bigger loss now to all who knew her. My deepest condolences to Charles and Louise's family.

I had only known Louise a short time but I will remember fun times and laughter at Ratho and Alien Rock with Elsie. Louise was a graceful and talented climber, always cheerful and good company. So sorry for such a heartbreaking loss

So glad to have met and worked with Louise. Such a positive and energetic person, liked by everyone.

I will miss her infectious optimism and hearing about her never-boring weekends. She lived life to the full and inspired us all to try to do the same.

Thinking of Charles and Louise's family at this terrible time.
