In loving memory of Leslie Edward Smith who sadly passed away on 19th April 2018. Les was born on the 9th February 1933, the first of ten children for Lillian and Edward Smith. Les grew up in Grange Road Walthamstow during the unfortunate years of the Second World War. Each time he was evacuated, he would find his way back home to his loving mum. In 1957, Les met his loving partner, Eileen, of 61 years and his only daughter, Maureen. He dedicated his entire life to ensuring Eileen and Maureen were loved and well cared for, even though this wasn't always an easy task. He was blessed with two granddaughters and 5 great grand children who all loved him dearly. Les lived a full and happy life in Walthamstow and he always enjoyed his holidays at Dovercourt. Les and Eileen retired to Stowmarket 18 years ago and he truly blossomed into the amazing man he was during these years. Please help us to remember all of Les's wonderful life by sharing all memories here.
Les's funeral will take place on Monday 14th May at Seven Hills Crematorium, Nacton, Ipswich at 1.30 pm.
We will return to Stowmarket town football club to celebrate Les and share memories.
Eileen and Maureen wish for nobody to wear entire black as Les never did.

Grandad Les you were such a kind & funny gentleman. Nothing was ever too much trouble or nothing could possibly make you angry or upset even if it meant that I pulled your braces just a little too hard. I have so many wonderful memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you for being my wonderful grandad. Sleep tight & enjoy your new legs
