Elizabeth Chatburn, known to many as Liz, of Browning Avenue, Kettering, sadly passed away at Country View Nursing Home on the 11th of August 2018.

After a valiant battle with cancer, Liz died peacefully in her sleep with her son Steve at her side.

The beloved mother and Grandmother is survived by Steven and her grandsons Ciaran and Euan.

Liz was born in Edinburgh in 1947 before moving to Blackburn at the age of 10. Liz married Tony in December 1972 becoming a Forces wife and moving around the UK and Germany, before settling in Clayton-le-Woods in Lancashire. In 2007 Liz moved to Kettering.

As a practising Catholic, Liz has been part of a church life as a chorister and has always had a deep love of singing being a member of various choirs notably 'The String of Pearls'. Since leaving employment as a Civil Servant in Lancashire, Liz has been very active in the voluntary sector. Liz has volunteered in hospices in both Lancashire and Kettering, the WRVS, St Mary's School and Cransley Hospice café.

Liz will be sadly missed by many friends and family both in the UK and abroad.

The funeral will be held at St Edwards Catholic Church, London Road, Kettering NN15 7QQ on Friday the 31st of August at 1030am followed by a committal at Kettering Warren Hill Crematorium, Rothwell Road NN16 8XE at 1200 in the Albert Munn Chapel.

A celebration of Liz's life will be held at the Telford Lodge, Rothwell Road after the ceremony where all are welcome to attend.

Flowers are welcomed, but if people wish to make donations, can they please be made to CAFOD or Help for Heroes.

Liz was a very dear friend and when she moved to Kettering to be near her family all her friends in Leyland missed her very much.Liz and I had the same wicked sense of humour and spent many happy times together.I will always treasure my memories of her .
My deepest sympathy goes to her lovely family and the many friends she made in Kettering.
