Robert BURGESS (4 May 1950 - 25 Aug 2018)

Bob was a great friend to me and I still find it hard to believe he has gone - such a shock.

I worked with him for a while and we kept in touch after his move to Devon, emailing constantly about film and sharing film reviews and we had our film races to see who could see the most at the cinemas! He knew everything about the movies and I'll miss his knowledge.

He was such a kind and generous friend and I will miss him hugely. It was a privilege to have known him.

Bob was simply one of life's gentlemen. I just can't believe he has gone. I will miss him lots as we used
to converse constantly on our mutual passion of films from the 50's and 60's. His laptop was his lifeline and he used to send me articles from the papers on what was happening in the Torbay area and
beyond. He was always a very methodical guy with his paperwork and affairs. I don't think we ever exchanged a cross word in all the twenty five years that I have been privileged to have known him.
This world has lost a good genuine guy and somewhere in the next one he will be definitely making his
mark for the better.
God bless you Bob and keep the flag of hope and enlightenment flying!

Bob was a lovely friend to my husband John who spent many happy, interesting and eventful holidays with him in Torquay. John will miss his input on films and the times they spent watching them. May he rest in peace.

Dear Robert or Bob to his friends, you were a very kind, thoughtful,wise,knowledgable man. A good listener and always gave sound advise to a situation.

You were reliable, honest and very well informed. Always willing to offer guidance and understanding. I didn’t know you well but I know you will leave a gap in the lives of those who came to be your friends. Rest in Peace Robert.

I had heard Denise and Mary Connors mention Robert many times with such fondness and meeting him was a real pleasure. A true gentleman who was kind, caring and interested in all those around him.

In fond remembrances of a truly nice man, who was one of the most organised people I have had the pleasure of meeting, with a love of film, music, travelling and an interest in seeing places

It has been an honour and a privilege to have known you Robert. You have been a loyal and true friend. I will always remember you as a wise, truthful, caring person and those who were lucky enough to have known you will I am sure, like I feel blessed to have shared life’s journey with you .
