I enjoyed working with Peter immensely; great character and wit. He will surely be missed by the many lives he had touched.

  • Taken at the bar in Channings on South Learmouth Gardens on a cold night many years ago. Peter always made my visit special as it appears he did for many others.

Peter, I met you about a year after I lost my dad. Thank you so much for including me as one of your own. Words cannot express how much you will be missed. I have some really good recipes from you that will surely be carried on (even though I never tried that fish pie, sorry!) If only your son appreciated fine wine as you did. Thanks for sharing that with me. You will forever be in our hearts. Chow!

Love, Ashlee, Samantha snd Maci

Our thoughts Are with Peters entire family!
As a business partner we traveled around Sweden and enjoyed each other’s company. I will remember his laughter and comments that always made me laugh out loud. Peter was not just a good college of mine but he also became a good friend that made me and my wife (Jessica) laugh.

A very fond memory from last year with friends from Locker, at a restaurant in France which Peter loved and very near ‘Chateau Des Vigier’, yes a golf resort, which Peter adored.

My thoughts have been privately delivered, I can only echo what has already been said by others.

Peter was tremendously honest, genuine and positive to the end, he brought warmth, energy and optimism to all who knew him.

We will make our donation tomorrow at the funeral.

It is difficult to sum up someone like Peter in a few words, so I won’t attempt it. He was sharply intelligent, compassionate and sociable, always eager to engage people in friendly conversation wherever he went. He shared my fondness for struggling around golf courses, losing money( small amounts only) on horses that seemed to have only three legs and supporting football teams of similar ineptitude. But he always made it fun to do these things in his company. I will miss him so much. He and his family will be in the thoughts of Elaine and I in the years to come

My thoughts are with Alison and Peter’s entire family at this time.

Peter was just a top, top bloke. It has been thoroughly enjoyable and a pleasure working with Alison and Peter over the last couple of years practising yoga. He definitely saw the benefit and was proud as punch on how good he’s become. Especially after a visit to India when, on his return said “We were better than most of them there”

He’s a man who always did the right thing, was full of laughter, full of chat, especially on golf, football (Southampton), betting, wine or travel. He was also offering me advice right up until the end.

I will miss all of that massively!

The thoughts of all of the staff at United Wife, both past and present, are with you Alison and the entire family at this very sad time.
We recognise Peter's outstanding contribution to the business over more than four decades and, of equal importance, we will now miss the character and presence of the man we counted as both a colleague and long-standing friend, including after his retirement.
Peter was a people person, never happier than when engaged with others actively seeking to make their day more satisfying and enjoyable.
He is pictured with "friends at the golf".
His loss is keenly borne indeed.
We will miss you Peter.
