In loving memory of Vera Benedict who sadly passed away on 24th September 2018 age 92years. Born in Carlton Colville she lived in the Lowestoft area all her life. Having worked hard running the Ashurst Hotel for 30 years and the Terminus Stores fruit shop for 15yrs she was glad to retire. Little did she know she would spend that retirement helping to care for three much loved grandchildren - Gareth, Connah and Rhiannon. These were her life and she frequently said how proud she was of 'the way they turned out'. The family was extended by the addition of Gareth's lovely wife Sarah and great grandchildren Kaci and earlier this year Oliver all adored by Vera. Rhiannon also added the joy of her lovely dog Rex who mum loved dearly. Son in law Andy also gave her great amusement, she always laughed at him but nobody knew why.
Despite becoming increasingly housebound and needing to live with her daughter Josephine, Vera remained healthy and well until she passed away peacefully at home.
She will be remembered for her forth right comments 'what do you want to do that for?', love of her garden, her cigarettes, the endless amount of sweets she consumed, love of cake and puddings, quiz shows and most of all GIN.
