Michael Cleveland (18 Aug 1946 - 18 Sep 2018)

In loving memory of Michael Cleveland who sadly passed away on 18th September 2018 aged 72

Mick was born in York in 1946. He spent his early years in the South West. His parents, Anne and Reg, were publicans who ran hotels in Slough and Dover before moving to London in the early 1950s. Mick came to Sutton-in-Ashfield around 1962 when his parents became licencees of the Denmans Head.

Mick worked as an electrician mainly on industrial sites before working underground at various coal mines including Langwith and Teversal before moving to Sutton where he worked until its closure in 1989. He was self employed for many years following the collapse of the mining industry, making a living buying and selling cars, motorbikes and antiques.

Mick's passion was motorbikes and he bought and restored many bikes during his life. His main area of interest was Italian motorbikes and his pride and joy was his Ducati 900ss which he bought in 1987.

Mick leaves his partner Janet, 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren...and his beloved Ducati
