In loving memory of David Richard Piggott who sadly passed away on 13th October 2018.

Dave was 63 years old, and was a beloved father to his daughter, Marsha, and son, Carl. A proud grandfather to his grandson, leo, and granddaughter, Alexah, and also a devoted husband to Marj, of whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Dave was born on the 26th April 1955, he was born and raised in Barnet, Heartfordshire. He was the son of Richard and Patricia Piggott, and the older brother to Marc, Linzi and Tracy. Dave left the family home at 16, to enroll in the Army.

Dave spent 22 years in the Army, in the Royal Corps of Signals. In his time in the Army he was based twice in Germany, and also worked at Colchester, Sailsbury and Catterick. Dave always stated his time in the Army were some of the best years of his life. Dave retired from the Army in 1993, and spent the rest of his time with Marj and the kids living in Nottingham.

In his spare time, Dave grew a massive interest in collecting/selling cigarette cards on Ebay. His other interests included were a love for art, playing the keyboard, DIY, watching Arsenal on the tv and going on nice cruises with Marj around various parts of the world.

In his later years, Dave took early retirement at 60, from his job on security at the Nottingham Trent University. In his first year of retirement, Dave bought himself his dream car, a new range rover, and also treated his family to a family holiday to Cyprus...he was really starting to enjoy the fruits of his own labour.

At 61, Dave became ill and was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and was given only a short amount of time to live. Dave knew at the time of receiving the news, his daughter was expecting her first child later on that year, and also planned to be married the following year. Dave made it his priority to be there for both occasions, and sure enough he was there for the birth of his granddaughter Alexah, and he proudly walked his daughter down the aisle.

Not only Dave was a soldier In the Army, he was also a soldier in his battle of cancer.

Dave will be sorely missed. R.I.P
