“To everything there is a season, a time for every
matter under heaven; a time to be born,
and a time to die; a time to plant,
and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away.”

-Ecclesiastes

In loving memory of Marina Niranjala Jeeva Ratnam (known affectionately as Niri) who entered glory peacefully whilst surrounded by family on 31st October 2018. A devoted, loving and much-loved mother and mother-in-law. A loved and loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece and cousin and a much-cherished friend.

The Funeral Service will take place at 1:45 pm on 15th November 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church, Broadway in Bexleyheath, followed by the Committal at Eltham Crematorium. Those who wish are welcome to join the family afterwards at the Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel for a celebration of Niri's life.

No floral tributes by request. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Niri to Footprints, Sri Lanka via Pearl of Hope (http://www.pearlofhope.org.uk). This is a cause close to Niri's heart which she supported for many years.

My friend Marina (Niri) it was a pleasure meeting you. You were a wonderful and inspiring person who helped me through so much and so many times. We had good chats, happy or sad whilst drinking hot chocolate with lots of sugar whilst doing your nails. ( we could talk for hours).
You have seen my children grow up" Jake used to turn up sometimes grumpy but you always seemed to cheer him up with some sweets and a magazine. Sophie used to sing to you in the car whilst Pete would drive you to your family's home and Ollie just wanted to get in your bed and nick your pillows when I visited.
I will never forget the special moment's we have shared together over the years, we're all going to miss you very much"
Rest in peace, until we meet again
God bless you
Love Jayne & Peter
& family

For Ian...your mum was lovely. She was kind to me when I joined the CRE and felt out of my depths. Niri impressed with her dignity and commitment to race equality and human rights. She has helped to improve the lives of many. And she left her legacy through you. May she rest in peace.

Dear Niri, the picture above makes it even more hard to accept that you have left us. All the number of years we worked together for CRE under all it’s guises, the most memorable are the years at EHRC at Riverside More London. We became closer as we spent most of the evening working when everyone had gone home. The senior Director would actually tell us to go home, including one Xmas eve when everyone had gone home.
May your soul rest in peace. At least you were able to see Sherran settled and you were happy with Monica.
Sherran and Monica I extend my condolences to you as we celebrate Niri,s life.

Dear Niri. I had the pleasure of working with you and getting to know you. You were always a bright light with your lovely smile, intelligence and your commitment to fighting injustice wherever it was found. Every day we would look forward to seeing you and what beautiful clothes you would be wearing. We also looked forward to you putting forward cases of discrimination that you would be advocating for the organisation to fight for on behalf of the victims. So many people were helped by you and owe so much to you. You have secured your place in heaven on the right hand side of the Lord.

May God bless and keep you. Love from the Robinson family. May the Lord provide his love and comfort to all your friends and family to help you all come to terms with Him calling you to join him in his Kingdom.

God is faithful! Auntie Niri was beautiful inside and out. She was always smiling, laughing and thoroughly engaging. It is with much fondness I recolect all the time we spent together, especially when my auntie visited from Sri Lanka. She always showed us so much love. There isn't a memory I have of Auntie Niri that doesn't bring a smile to my face. She loved Jesus, and now is safe in His arms. My thoughts and prayers are with Sherran, Monika and the rest of the family.

Auntie Niri, we will miss you....

My dearest friend Niri
How blessed I am to have had you as my friend – a loving, caring, genuine friend. When I look back over the years I can see it has been a wonderful, amazing, special friendship and I thank God for bringing you into my life and keeping you in my life too. You’ve made me laugh on countless occasions with your sharp wit, and Niri you do not know how often I have been encouraged by you and your faith.

I am going to miss our little chats very much, but even more I am going to miss you my dearest friend. My comfort is knowing you are happy with Jesus.

Sherran and Monica – my thoughts and prayers are with you as I can only imagine how much you will miss your very special mum. Much love. Aunty Ramona
