Ste
Growing up we had the best of childhoods, always the big brother looking out for me , we even thought it was funny one day for me to get inside your race sack in the back garden where you were practising for the school sports day but remember mum drawing the line at you tying to tie up the top up with string with me still inside! and every person in our road and around the square we called them auntie and uncle, holidays in Butlins and Scarborough where we loved the model airplane war battle display in the park , we have been there for each other every step in our lives through happy, bad and sad times especially loosing our mum to cancer at the age of 48, I have and will always be so proud to be called your sister, all my love Gillian x sending a special kiss to you and mum together again x

My namesake and I met at the Royal Stoke University Hospital several years ago when Steve had to have vital treatment . At that time I was working in the Renal Dept and was required to reset the dialysis machine Steve was using each day . At once I was met by a kind , smiling engaging man who chatted away with me , even though he was in great discomfort. During his stay in the hospital Steve spoke about his life back home his family and the love of his life Val. His face always lit up when he spoke of her ,and his hope that one day his illness would be behind him. So that they could do all the things they had planned when they first met. When Steve returned home we kept in touch still with Val giving me updates every day. With great sadness Steve sadly succumbed to his illness, but he was at peace knowing that the love of his life Val was forever near
