In loving memory of James William Marshall who sadly passed away on 28th November 2018
James Marshall or ‘Jim’ as he was known to most, was a kind, caring, thoughtful and hard working man.
He had a passion for life and led it to the full. He had many foreign holidays and also holidays in this country with his wife Julie and enjoyed them all for many different reasons.
Nothing was too much trouble for Jim if asked to do something by anyone he would most times oblige them.
He also had many proud moments in life giving away his god daughter Hazel at her wedding being one of the most memorable for him.
Later in life he also gave away his step-daughter Rebecca so as you see, ‘A true family man’
When not at work as a site manager Jim enjoyed many different sports during his life playing cricket and darts for various teams around Croydon.
A big passion was his beloved Crystal Palace football club to which he attended all of their home matches for the past 20-25 years with his best friend Mick. He would also occasionally travel to away matches with his circle of friends and brother.

Paul James wrote

Sorry I was unable to make it to the service but I hope Jim got the send off he deserved. May he rest in peace.

I know we had just a little time together but it broke our hearts to lose you, but you never went alone for part of us went with you when god took you home.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be so he put his arms around you and whispered come to me.

Rest in peace uncle Jimbo you’ll always live on in our hearts and we will miss you everyday until we meet again someday ❤️❤️😇😇

An uncle so dear
A soul so bright
You will forever be
Our shining light.

We laughed, we cried
We had ups and downs
But no matter what
You were always around.

Sleep tight uncle Jim
A true true gent
We understand you couldn't stay
So off you went.

We will always remember
We will never forget
The times we shared
And the day we met.

An uncle as great
One that's hard to find
If anyone says you weren't perfect
They must have been blind.

You will always be here
In heart and in mind
Until the day
We finally find..

A man so honest
A man so true
An uncle that is perfect
Just like you ❤
