In loving memory of our Dear Sweet Mum Susan Lesley Smith who sadly passed away unexpectedly on 8th December 2018 aged 68 years.

Mum had only been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in October. At first we were optimistic and was offered surgery. Unfortunately whilst she was waiting for treatment she caught pneumonia and whilst in hospital found out that it had spread to the lungs heart and abdomen. 2 weeks later she passed away.

It all happened so quickly that it still doesn’t seem real. Nothing was really put in place and funeral plans were not discussed in depth so we hope that we can make her final send off something that her family and friends will always remember.

Our Wonderful Sweet Mum will be sadly missed by all her family and friends and we are missing her so much already.

She leaves behind a Son, Daughter, Sister, 5 Grandchildren, In laws and many many very close friends and family. This was her biggest fear of dying leaving us all behind as she wasn’t ready to go so soon.

Mum’s Funeral will be a Celebration of her life and how
she loved to live it to the full in everything she did. We really hope as many people can join us and celebrate Sue’s life so she is always remembered.

Dear Katie, dear Andy, I am writing to you from Ettlingen and hope you will find my message. Your mum and I had lost touch over the years after you left Ettlingen and I only recently googled and researched to try and find her. I was distraught to see this obituary and find that she passed away - exactly three months after Peter died of stage 4 prostate cancer. I am sending you all my love and very best wishes and am so very sad with you. Hope you are slowly getting to terms with the fact that Sue is no longer with you. I remember her as a great friend, a warm and extremely funny person - she made me laugh and I enjoyed her company a lot. We went swimming together twice a week and that helped keep the pounds off! Please look after yourselves, and my heartfelt condolences to you and all the family. Praying that your mum and grandma didn't have to suffer badly, and I'm glad she was able to see out her life with her family surrounding her. That's how it should be.
