Yvonne Chatterji (3 Jul 1929 - 15 Dec 2018)

In loving memory of Yvonne Chatterji who sadly passed away on 15th December 2018

Yvonne was born in London in July 1929, and lived much of her childhood in Chesterfield with her sister Joan and her mother and step father. She trained as a teacher in Derby where she met life long friend Betty. Moving back to London in the early 1950's she met her husband to be, Chatt (as he liked to be called). They were married in 1953 in London, I was born 1954 and they moved to Cheltenham, moving to Manchester when I was 3, and two years later to Sheffield. Chatt changed his job five years later and we moved back to Manchester living in Sale then Altringham before yet another job changed caused them to move to Shropshire. Chatt last career move saw them move to Loughborough and Willoughby which became their home for almost 40 years

Yvonne worked as a junior school teacher for many years and at various schools, eventually becoming a supply teacher and happy to work part time ad she developed interests in bowling, the local church, and the Women's Institute. Apart from looking after Chatt she enjoyed visits from her 6 grand children and liked any excuse to look after them!

Latter years saw Yvonne suffer a severe stroke on 2005 but she was able to live at home in Willoughby on the Wolds until 2014. Since that time she lived near us in Surrey at the Princess Christian Care Centre until she passed away. Yvonne makes her final journey back to Willoughby to join her husband Chatt back at St Mary's and All Saints Church where she will be at peace in the village she loved so much
