In loving memory of Gloria Ann Ransome who sadly passed away on 23rd December 2018 aged 71 years. A wife and mum of three children with eight grandchildren.

- Gloria was born at Westminster hospital on 25th August 1947, the first born for Albert and Elma Ransome, starting her life in a post-war Vauxhall, South London
- The family moved to Putney, London with her younger sister Christine and brother Tony
- She graduated from Elliott school as a Qualified RSA typist
- Her first attempt at married life was during her mid 20's and they lived in Wimbledon
- She then moved back to Putney and created a very loving family home where she single-handedly raised her 3 children Warren, Matthew & Michelle. And as a proud mum spent many happy years and summer weekends watching them play school cricket, touring the country and playing at test grounds including The Oval and Lords.
- Keen to provide as much as possible for her family, Gloria bravely re-joined working life and spent 17 years as a civil servant with posts at the Deputy Prime Ministers Office in Victoria, London
- It's no secret that Gloria had worked her way up from a council tenant on income support with 3 young kids, to owning her own London house and some rental properties too. She called herself an Entrepreneur, but others might just say that she was a bloody hard worker!!
- In 2009, once her children had flown the nest, Gloria searched for a beautiful place to retire and found Portland , off the coast of Weymouth and her new life at Amy's Place (the name of her cherished first grandchild) began.
- She met some wonderful friends who enjoyed coastal walks and keeping fit and got involved in her local community through volunteering work - and so became an 'Honorary Portlander'
- She then met her husband Bill, who was a keen rower, in 2013 and they married in 2016 at the picturesque Portland Castle
- With a few drinks along the way, they both enjoyed travelling around the UK and Spain in their trusted camper van and planned to do much, much more.

There were hard times and cold winters with little money. But in much greater measure, there has been a lot of achievements and love in her life. With many friends wherever she goes, there was never a dull moment with Gloria.

She will ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS - WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER KNOW xxx RIP xxx
