In loving memory of Lynne Diane Hughes who sadly passed away on 25th December 2018. Born at 113 Salop Street Dudley, on the 14th February 1962 she moved to 127 Osprey Drive as a small girl, living there until finally settling in Burton upon Trent in 2005. Lynne was a one off - larger than life, fiercely independent, strong willed, single minded, passionate, funny, vivacious, witty, loyal, hard working, practical, loving, caring, selfless, opinionated, courageous, sensible, stubborn, whacky with a wonderful sense of humour and immensely proud to be Welsh.
Starting work at Cavendish House in Social Security after leaving College, she worked for Action for Children and Dudley Social Services and Sova before entering the world of Community Safety with North West Leicestershire District Council and her last role was as Community Safety Manager with Walsall MBC.
Lynne devoted her entire adult life trying to help others whether through work or her charitable donations or her voluntary work. She was instrumental with friends AJ and Steve, setting up Hospital Radio at Russell’s Hall Hospital and enjoyed her interaction with staff, patients and colleagues. She was devoted to her Mum, sister and niece. Providing support love, transport and finance whenever needed. A long time supporter of Birmingham City she was ecstatic to see them win 2 trophies at Wembley, the Daf Leyland Trophy at Old Wembley and latterly the Football League Cup (famously beating Arsenal) at the New Wembley Stadium.
Lynne loved anything funny, daft or downright whacky. Her sense of humour was manifested in her enjoyment of - I’m sorry I haven’t a clue, The Navy Lark, Round the Horne, Terry wogan with Janet and John, Count Arthur Strong, Pirates, Iggle Piggle, Piglet, Kermit, Teletubbies, Sheep, stars, robots, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
Lynne loved her pets more than anything else. Esme her baby girl dog, Tess the perfect dog, Cecilette (her lamb baby dream come true) and Eponine (her lamb boy bonus) came well before partner of 14 years Ray in her affection. She was enchanted by Gene Kelly and knew everything about his life and career and she also had an encyclopaedic knowledge of Hollywood Musicals.
Lynne impacted positively upon everyone she met and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Janet Granger donated £73.50 in memory of Lynne

To our dearest friend Lynne

What can we say
When we miss you every day
For you there will be no more sunsets across Swansea bay
But in the darkest hour that we share
We know you are safe in your Mother's care
The memories you left behind
Are not that hard to find

God bless you Lynne with love from all the clan.
