In loving memory of Barbara Scott who sadly passed away on 9th February 2019
Barbara was born on 26 March 1925 to Mildred Margaret Gomes nee McDonald and Fredrick Frank Gomes.
Barbara was a Sister to Coral, Enid, Jack, Freda, Frank, Cedric and Arlene.
On 7th October 1943 Barbara married Alexander Scott
Barbara gave birth to five children and she is remembered by the five children, their partners and their children.
Gerard and Colette, Christopher and Patricia, Leonard, Virginia and Colleen, Mary Anne and Kevin, Barbara Anne and Michael.
Barbara is the Grandmother to Matthew, Makenna, Jennifer, Alexander, Sean, Ryan and Joseph.
Barbara also has one Great Granddaughter, Ilya
On 14th June 1964 Barbara and Alexander moved the entire family to Belfast. This was an enormous undertaking for a young mother of five to move to Northern Ireland from India to bring up her children to make a new life. She was helped by members of the Scott family in Northern Ireland. Uncle Walter, Aunt Ina, Joy and Veronica.
In September 1972, Barbara and Alexander made the decision to move the entire family, once again from Northern Ireland to Thornton Heath, Surrey, where she raised her family and attended St Andrews Catholic Church on Brook Road, Thornton Heath.
A very devout Catholic she instilled those beliefs in her children, encouraged them to attend church and share her love for the Lord.
She is now in the hands of our Lord and joined her beloved Alick and all the family members who have passed before.
She will always be remembered as the gentle, peaceful and loving matriarch of the Scott family who always found a way to get her point of view across in the most dignified and loving manner. Her soft voice could be heard when she answered the door and greeted everyone with her famous phrase of “hello darling”.
Rest In Peace eternally Barbara you have earned it. You were proud of your family and you showered everyone that met you with your love and kindness.
The entire Scott family and the numerous friends you made on your journey.
