Good morning Wendy and Audrey,

This week I have been flooded with memories of Jeff and Audrey and as I cant be there to support you I wanted to share some of them with you.

First one that popped in was me and Unk on the River Trent in a dinghy - I could only have been about 8 but it was quite lovely and as I was already a great fan of Wind in the Willows my 8-year old self was thrilled.

Next keep coming back to day of your wedding Audrey when Sian and I were bridesmaids. Lovely day I adored my dress and kept it for years. I remember your father taking us to see the budgies I think. Didn't he have a wonderful aviary filled with the birds? I have a great picture Wendy of us nieces and nephews Ian, Race, Joanne, Helen, Sian and me - will send to you. Ian hated his photo being taken even then.

Then I remembered the last few years when I brought the kids over to the UK. It was shortly after 9/11 and plane prices were dirt cheap so we came over for 10 days. Five with Mum and Dad in Wales and five in Nottingham. Jeff drove us to Nottingham Forest, or what's left of it. Audrey fussed over us and made delicious English food. Makes me smile just thinking about it. I think we ended up having to "turf" you out of your room Wendy, sorry about that.

Then the time I came over after Mum died and I spent some time with you and Jeff just being loved. I have always been able to talk to you and Jeff about anything - a gift to me, more than you know.

The trip to Wales to see Dad just before he died and all of us meeting at the Cliff House Hotel.

My memories are punctuated with laughter and a feeling of peace and belonging. I am blessed to have had Jeff and you in my life.

Much much love I will be thinking of you all.

Pauline

One of my favorite memories of Uncle Jeff is when I visited from the US over New Years. Jeff took my Grandad and I for an "American Tour" of Nottingham. We drove through the countryside. Stopping for a quick pint at a pub that was built in the 1700s. NYE I sat with the men as they drank their hot toddies and remembered times past as we watched the celebrations on the TV. He always made a point to remember us in the US sending us cards for holidays or email updates on his adventures. Thank you Jeff for being such a light to everyone who knew you. We miss you tremendously. <3

In remembrance of a truly special Uncle. He was always welcoming whenever we visited from NZ, opening his heart and his home. Together with his beloved wife Audrey, he would delight in taking us around the countryside to visit sites of interests or enjoy a roast dinner at favourite hostelry. His regular emails were a delight, regaling us with tales of his activities and misadventures. We came to know of his friends in the choir and at church and their comings and goings.
Jeff had a number of dogs over the years, and took great pleasure in their company. We have very pleasant memories of accompanying him and his dog across the nearby common when over on our visits .

Jeffrey gave freely of his time and talents to family and family and will be greatly missed by many.

Our sympathy and condolences go out to Audrey, Wendy and Freya at this time.
