In loving memory of John David Muir who sadly passed away on 5th February 2019.

John or Joe as he was better known to family was a unique character whose personality was a combination of a grumpy old man who refused to go out after 6pm and a toddler who explored and enjoyed life with wondrous awe.

John was very specific in his wishes, in that he only wanted close family to attend his funeral and we want to respect this.

That being said, we are aware that many of his friends and extended family wish to pay your respects. Therefore we have arranged for a service to be held for John at 1.30pm on Thursday 28th February in the Function Suite atCraighouse.

Carberry Road, Inveresk
Musselburgh
East Lothian
EH21 8PT

We would love to see as many of you as possible come along to celebrate the truly unique soul that was John.

To honor John and his love of unicorns, please attend wearing your best unicorn attire i.e. bright colours.

Bright Colours indeed. That’s exactly how I will remember you. Truly a beautiful person and one of the most decent and supportive friends to ever come into my life. You wouldn’t think Twice about driving out to Livi for a random visit or help me prop up the bar in Planet or CC’s. You didn’t care what anyone thought, your only concern was that the bright colours were flowing and that we were having a good time. That was a time where I needed a good friend and you never let me down, buddy. I don’t think you even knew it. I regret that we hadn’t spoken in a while. Life being life and taking us in different directions but I will always miss you and treasure your memory. You were an absolute diamond. Give my Mum a big cuddle for me. I’ll be sure to raise a bright colour to you every time I’m in the Toon. Sweet dreams, beautiful guy.

I lost a friend I made for a short time. You were a lovely chap, and I was glad I had the chance to know you however briefly. I hope you have found peace. Do me a favour, play well with the dogs and Unicorns up there - because they all deserve good company and fun!

  • Alexis, he still had butch. Hes a little battered and bruised and is traumatised from all his visits to the oven. Aidan is now taking good care of him.

  • Aww can't believe Joe has had him all those year's. I've got a picture of Joe with butch, will always be how I remember him. I'm sure Aidan will do a great job looking after him now. So precious. 💔
