You were a gruff old sort when i first arrived in hospital, often its the best of folks who don’t suffer fools. But what was apparent quickly was that you really *really* cared about people, from your colleagues to the individual and collective wellbeing of the extremely vulnerable in your care. They relied on you and you met that responsibility every single day with kindness, humanity and good humour.

Goodbye old soldier. Much too young. Life is flimsy. We will remember you, remember your soul and your strength. You live on in the day-to-day lives of those you love the most. RIP.

Have known Chris since the old football coaching days. He was a strong, protective, hilarious man. What a loss to his family and everyone that knew him. The world won’t be the same without him. Rest well Chris 💙
